Comics Day Guest 2016: Comic Writer Andy Diggle

Lancaster-based Andy Diggle is best known as comic book writer today, but before that he was the editor of the legendary British sci-fi comic 2000AD.

His project for DC Comics, The Losers,  drawn by Jock, was turned into a film, and Green Arrow: Year One was the basis for the hit TV show Arrow.

He’s currently writing Thief of Thieves with Robert Kirkman at Skybound and Uncanny at Dynamite.

His creator-owned thriller Snapshot, illustrated by my longtime friend and collaborator Jock, is out now.

Other stuff he’s written includes Action Comics, Batman, Hellblazer, Swamp Thing, Adam Strange and Silent Dragon for DC Comics; Daredevil, Hawkeye, Thunderbolts, Shadowland and Six Guns for Marvel; Doctor Who for IDW (soon to be reprinted by Titan Comics); and the FBI thriller Rat Catcher for Vertigo Crime.

You can read most of his work digitally via Comixology.

Andy is from South London but he live in Lancaster with his wife, two kids and a PlayStation 4.
